PPF is headquartered in Hungary, employs around 1,500 staff and has operations in five countries: The Netherlands, Hungary, Czech, Slovakia, and Poland. With nine factories across Europe, PPF is the only market operator with an integrated pan-European production network. The production network is split between wet and dry factories, producing canned and single-serve products and dehydrated products respectively. They also manage the pet food category for their retail partners, which makes PPF an innovative and leading company. Their private label products are sold throughout The Netherlands, including all large retailers and discounters.
With a very high service level and quality/price ratio in every market amongst private label producers, they achieve the same KPI’s as the major global branded market leaders. And they aspire to become the undisputed number one. Innovation is key for the company. Their newest additions are influenced by trends in human food like, grain free products, more fresh and natural ingredients and focus on sustainability.
The company has recently been acquired by private equity form Cinven from previous owner Pamplona Capital Management, and has delivered double-digit growth in each of the last ten years. PFF was created via a number of acquisitions by Dutch company Provimi between 2000 and 2006. In Nijmegen about 40 employees work to meet the high growing standards. In total the Dutch division has about 140 employees. Turnover for this branch is about 120 million euro. The company culture is characterized by flexibility, cost efficiency, quick problem solving and high performance. The company’s core values are: integrity, openness and honesty.
