Realising extensive sales growth in Northern European markets.

The position

The European Sales Manager will initially focus on business development for Lincoln & York in foodservice, hotel and catering industry in the Netherlands, Germany and the Nordics. You will gain Private Label contracts for both ground coffee and coffee beans, create new clients and further develop the existing European business

The European Sales Manager will attract and maintain a pipeline of new customers. You will set up and agree joint business plans with key customers and invest in long term and strong relationships. You will have up-to-date and extensive knowledge of market trends in Northern Europe and translate current developments into appealing business proposals and deals. Visiting key accounts on a regular basis is vital to truly understand the needs of your customers, and to know what they expect from the company.

Lincoln & York are looking for an autonomous and resilient European Sales Manager who understands what is needed to grow sales. You will be a motivated self-starter with Private Label experience and the entrepreneurial spirit to open doors and make the right decisions at the right time. Already having an international foodservice network is important to succeed. Lincoln & York does have some existing customers in Europe amounting to approximately £5m in value. The target for the next three years is to grow this to in excess of £10m.

The European Sales Manager will be hungry to expand the business. You will be willing to travel across the region and have monthly trips to the head office in Lincolnshire, UK. You work from home, since there is no office in The Netherlands. Part of this job is to attend major trade shows to attract potential customers and promote the brand in Europe. You will report to the Head of Business Development and feel right at home in an Anglo-Saxon environment.


Experience as a Sales Manager in an international environment. Private Label experience is necessary, preferably also in Foodservice. Knowledge of European markets. Broad commercial understanding of P&L. Fluent in Dutch, English and German. Additional languages are a plus, as is experience in coffee. Prepared to travel about 66 percent of the time. Lives within an hour of a major international airport.
