Job description

The Sales Manager is responsible for further business growth for two major accounts: Jumbo and Albert Heijn. You also manage the Off Trade sales team of 3 persons, a team that needs a clear direction and some new inspiration. There are several different challenges to focus on in this role. While you increase the branded business, you also examine opportunities to add private labels and exclusive brands and online growth.

Les Grand Chais de France Group is looking for an entrepreneurial and hands on Sales Manager with the drive to the lead the Off Trade team to the next level. You have the seniority to convincingly sell the product to the clients and know how to make the most out of the well-known brands and the speciality and exclusive wines. GCF Group can offer tailer made solutions to retailers by offering wines from a specific domain or estate exclusively for one client. Your team translates the latest trends from all of the French regions to the Dutch category standards, based on flavour and taste.

The Sales Manager reports to Area Director Benelux, Switzerland & Italy Eric Heckmann who is located at the French head office. This manager counts on you to take on full responsibility for developing the Dutch team and your accounts. As he is responsible for the Superunie head office account himself, he is also actively involved in the market and can set realistic goals. He relies on you to take charge of the local team, which consists of a Trade Marketeer/Key Account Manager, a Business Development Manager, and an Account Manager. Your team has extra support from the back office which is situated at the head office.

Candidate profile

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in sales, prior experience with wine or spirits is a plus
  • Track record in retail at head office level and with yearly negotiations
  • Excellent in building longterm relationships
  • Leadership skills
  • Entrepreneurial, seniority, hands on, independent, down to earth, team player
  • Affinity with wine, WSET level 3 or oenology degree is a plus
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, (basic) understanding of French and/or German is an advantage
